Partners

Ikaria was born from collaboration. As a company, we pursue paths and partnerships that lead to the development and commercialization of acute-care therapies for the significant unmet medical needs of the critically ill.
We look to collaborate on relationships that can build on our three areas of expertise:

  1. Insight into the clinical needs of critically ill patients
  2. Deep understanding of the biology of critical conditions
  3. Intimate understanding of the needs of healthcare providers who practice critical care medicine

Our critical care business managers have established a proven track record of success in the field of complex critical care therapies with a high level of clinical competence.
We are actively pursuing opportunities that can benefit from our expertise and are dedicated to bringing additional innovative and much-needed therapies to the critical care market.

Licensing & Acquisitions
We seek to acquire products and technologies, including drugs, devices, and drug-delivery systems, at any stage of their development. Our expertise in clinical development through product commercialization makes us an ideal partner for any company with assets focused on critical care conditions.
We are also committed to enabling the broader industry access to licensing support. If you are interested in licensing your product or technology, or expanding your product’s presence in the hospital, we welcome hearing from you.
Our specific areas of interest focus upon:

  • Neonatal ICU indications
  • Sepsis/shock
  • Acute lung injury and acute respiratory distress syndrome
  • Acute renal failure, such as acute kidney injury and contrast-induced nephropathy
  • Acute liver failure and acute complications of cirrhosis
  • Organ transplantation
  • Acute exacerbation of chronic diseases, such as congestive heart failure, cystic fibrosis, liver failure, idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, and status asthmaticus
  • Acute pancreatitis
  • Surgical supportive/preventative therapies, such as for CABG-induced ischemia reperfusion injury, vascular stenosis, peri- and postoperative glycemic control, and surgical bleeding

Kinnerest Savitsky, PhD“Not only were we impressed by Ikaria’s expertise, but they have continually impressed us by their ability to move forward quickly and make things happen. We believe they have what it takes to make BL-1040 a reality for patients not just in the US but, on a global level. The singular focus on therapies for patients in acute care settings is what makes them the right partner.”

Peter Teuber, PhD“There were a number of companies interested in licensing our product Lucassin (terlipressin). Ikaria had something we thought was a lot more important than a financial offer. They are dedicated to critical care and the needs of these patients and caregivers and they showed great flexibility to work with a smaller partner like us. In addition, they understand the science and selling complexities of this unique environment. In the end, Ikaria was the only company we trusted to maximize the value of ‘our baby’.”
