Our Capabilities

We are fully integrated and fully dedicated. Our competencies run deep: from our strong in-house R&D to our sales and marketing. Learn more about our areas of expertise by clicking on each capability.

Manufacturing

Manufacturing
We are the only company that commercially developed an endogenous signalling molecule in gas form for human use. The manufacture ofa pharmaceutical gas requires expertise that few companies can begin to match. Separately, we manufacture the complementary delivery system that delivers this gas. This specialized manufacturing process results in an integrated drug-delivery system for patients.

Clinical Research

Clinical Research
We possess significant capabilities across pharmacology and clinical development. Our clinical research program is focused on applications in ischemia/reperfusion injury, cardiovascular and pulmonary medicine, and surgery, transplantation, and neonatology.

Delivery System Development

Delivery System Development
We have a special competency in developing drug-delivery systems. Our marketed product INOMAX® (nitric oxide) for inhalation utilizes an integrated drug-delivery system for proper administration.

Business Development & Licensing

Business Development & Licensing
We are actively pursuing development and commercial opportunities that can benefit from our unique understanding of and expertise in the critical care arena. Our goal is to bring additional much-needed solutions to the critical care market in the near future.

Research & Development

Research & Development
We are investigating additional uses for nitric oxide (NO).1-4 We have discovered that this naturally occuring molecule – when properly delivered in low doses – may demonstrate several essential critical care benefits. We are also investigating the therapeutic potential of terlipressin, a promising compound for treating hepatorenal syndrom (HRS) Type 1, a condition that results in acute kidney failure in patients with late-stage liver cirrhosis.5 IK-5001 is a potential treatment for preventing cardiace remodeling and subsequent congestive heart failure following acute myocardial infarcation.6

Global Relationships

Global Relationships
We have established wholly owned operations in Canada, Japan, and Australia and have created relationships with organizations in those regions as well as in Europe, Mexico, and South America.

Sales & Marketing

Sales & Marketing
Our sales force is a group that has earned the right to contribute to care in restricted critical care settings within hospitals. Our relationships are based not only on technical and clinical expertise, but also on our commitment to go the extra mile at a moment’s notice. Supported by a growing integrated marketing and customer service staff, the combined efforts of this group embody the highest level of customer care.

Distribution

Distribution
We staff and maintain seven regional service centers that are on-call 24/7/365 to meet customer needs throughout North America. This includes anything from answering technical questions to ensuring the timely delivery of our product. Overseas, we work with local partners who ensure the same level of competence, access, and customer service.
